I definitely agree Angus for the SG proper, but dude, JIMMY PAGE!!! He has made a legend of the EDS.

All of the players mentioned above bring to mind the SG, but really who can forget the original Alice Cooper Band?

Glen Buxton (SG Custom) ripping leads, John Tatum (SG Custom) rhythm, Dennis Dunnaway (SG Bass).

Thanks for that. I needed an excuse to get some early A.C. albums and they are great.

Unfortunately I still think that "the" SG tone isn't for me

Tony Iommi was the first name that popped into my head, followed immediately by Angus Young.

But I was ever more a Sabbath fan than an AC/DC fan.

Now I'm going to post a pic, because I'm somewhat offended that this thread made it to page 3 with no pick of Iommi, the Godfather of Heavy Metal.
