Just found this among the many beauties at Gruhn. Figured we should see it here

Big price reduction too. The economy I'd guess. Still, it 's some $$$.

Professionally refretted, back of body and neck oversprayed, formerly owned and played by Danny Gatton, also played by Buddy Guy, Gibson Protector HC, REDUCED from $27,500......$15000

What is it with the 61/62 Les Paul SGs that Gibson used what looks to be those small ceramic disc caps? Earlier Lesters had the large caps and the late 60's SGs had the larger Orange drop type caps. When I first saw one I thought it was a reissue but it was vintage.

Yes the ceramics are vintage correct. I too am befuddled by that.

Makes me appreciate my really good version of this classic.
The neck on this guitar beat out a VOS believe it or not
when the guy who set it up had both in his shop...
this one has had a fret crown/polish.
Makes all the difference in the world.
