help ID this 70's SG, please
The lack of neck binding is throwing me off....
My guess is it is a 71 or 73 Standard based on the serial number and inlays. Sn 171752 I'm going to try to save it and get it back to original. Thanks ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I was a bit surprised myself, but actually no, they didn't seem to have neck bindings - at least the pictures I found.
Quite surprising for me as my '71 SG deluxe has a neck binding. |

This is definitely a 74 std. The bridge p/up looks like a smaller route than the neck????routed for mini hum's. No binding was 'standard' on that year. Wondering if it is an ebony f-board? looks like it? Let us see it when you restore her. Good luck!
