Blacklab's 1966 SG

Hello to all.

When I introduced myself to the forum I mentioned I had two guitars. Should have expected folks would ask for pics. Well, here they are.

This is the gibson SG I have. My parents bought it for me in 1966 when I was in 6th grade. All original except the strings (of course), adjustable bridge and the pick guard. I still have the original of the last two - A "stair step" wrap around bridge, absolutely guaranteed to properly intonate 4 of the 6 strings every time, without fail, no exceptions and the black/white/black/white pick guard.

Pics of my Les Paul Trad Pro is on another part of the forum.

(p.s. This is the first time I have tried to post pics here so if this fails, my apologies.)

Thanks very much!

Yes, it can coo, scream, growl ... pretty much what you ask it to do.

That's it!

White SG, P90s and a tremolo. Perfect.

Thanks.

My (lack of) photo skills hide the flaws. It has spiderline cracks over many parts of the finish. It was stored in a crawl space for several years while I was in college and the heat/cold did its dirty work. Nevertheless, it still sounds like a champ even if it does have a few wrinkles.

looks like the wide nut too. I guess it would be a 1965 model.

I'm sure no expert on this, but the serial number on the back indicates it was probably made in 1965. Also, it was my birthday gift in the spring of 1966. So, your guess seems to be pretty on the mark.
