Would like to put a new bridge on my Les Paul Jr 1957. I have noticed that there are two different ones B-39 and B-40. Which would be the correct
replacement for this and should I use an intonated bridge. Thanks Jerry

Re: Les Paul Jr '57 Tail Piece
+1 on the Pigtail. It's nearly an exact copy of a vintage wraparound, although there are still subtle differences that make it possible to distinguish between the two. The Pigtail is actually slightly improved over the originals in that it has better defined ridge. This improves sustain and eliminates the sitar/buzzing effect that vintage bridges sometimes have. Here are photos comparing the Pigtail to both a vintage (1957) tailpiece and a Historic Gibson tailpiece. The chart at the bottom compares the dimensions of the tailpieces in the photos. These parts are hand-dressed after they come out of the mold, so every one will have slightly different dimensions.

Re: Les Paul Jr '57 Tail Piece
I have the same problem need a relic-ed and/or replacement bridge for a vintage LP Jr (with a neck reset & spray on the neck - side of fretboard looks painted & probably oversprayed), it has a compensated bridge on it now, nice, but a little sharp on the intonation, original bridge is lost to history - can you help?
do you do reliced refins? MD Boston, MA
