Rare bursts

Hi what was there ever a goldburst or black 58 59 or 60 Les Paul I swear I've heard of them can anyone confirm them? The goldburst is not to be confused with a goldtop... Were there any other cool colours please add photos

Re: Rare bursts

There were some Norlins with a finish such as you're describing... Nothing from the 50s as far as I'm aware of, though...

Re: Rare bursts

early '58s were GTs. Along with cherry sunburst there were darkbursts/tobacco bursts, a few were made in red and black.

You should pick up The Beauty of the Burst, the Bible for this stuff.

Re: Rare bursts

Tom Wittrock has a 59' Standard that was finish originally by Gibson in black because it had a router chip on the top of the bridge pups route, that he stripped and refinished in a sunburst.
