1957 Les Paul Custom in da house !!!
After a long wait I finally got the 1957 LP Custom that I bought on Ebay in December. It is all original except for the tuners with original case and original headstockbreak to keep the price down. It weighs 8,5 lbs and is a joy to play. I just have to find out how to raise the bridge pick up to get more punch, it is way down. Ebonyboard looks brand new. It is clearly a harder wood than rosewood.
![]() No razor blades used here....... ![]() This part of the guitar saved me 15 K. Luckily they saved the ser nr when they refinished the headstock. ![]() Family photo with my 1957 Jun. and my Bigsbied all gold 1952 ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: 1957 Les Paul Custom in da house !!!
Why did it take from December to get the guitar?[/QUOTE]
I had to wait for some other stuff that I also had to have shipped to Denmark where I live. So it was all shipped together. The other stuff was a reliced gold Bigsby that I might put on. Iīm sure it would look really cool, but I always feel bad about messing with vintage guitars so......... |

That's a really cool guitar! Lot's of Mojo!
Your others aren't to be sneezed at either! I had a 68 original Goldtop with P90's and had the same problem with the bridge pickup being too low. I simply placed a piece of foam underneath it so that it kept the pickup taught when I raised the two securing screws. Worked a treat and is totally reversible! I gave it to a friend and it still has the foam underneath!

SWEET!!
Let me just say that of all the members to ever grace this forum, I'm pretty confident that you have my favorite "collection" of all time. Boogieongtr does have a Burst and a few other nice oldie LPs - but with your Lesters and your Fenders combined, you get #1 in my book! Thanks for sharing - and congrats!! |

Re: 1957 Les Paul Custom in da house !!!
Use popsicle sticks or old credit cards cut to fit on the ledges. Foam when rotted will be a pain in the ass and can react to the nitro.
