Back from Nashville Guitar Show...

It was pretty cool. Tons of vintage stuff.

I got a really good look at one '59 Burst...the only one I saw at the show. Serial # 9 186X (couldn't quite read the last number, maybe a 6 or 8), and it was gorgeous. Completely faded like the Greeny burst, and it had a lot of loving wear on it--it was a player's guitar. Unfortunately no pics of it.

I did, however, get to play a gorgeous '57 LP Junior, all-original. I played it through a BF Princeton for about an hour. The owner liked my blues playing, so he invited me to keep playing (I think it brought people around, better chance of a sale), so I did! Talk about a guitar speaking to you--wow. I WANTED this guitar, it played so well. I've onlyhad that feeling with a couple of guitars, including my '67 SG Special. If only I had $20K to drop.

Here it is:

I got some of RS's BB Luxe caps for my R9, and a Modern kit for my EDS-1275. Billy wired them right at the show. Here he is with Roy ops-checking it.

It was a great show. I hope to make the one in Chicago. I'll be bringing my Steinberger, in hopes of getting a good price up there.

Cheers all--

BB

Re: Back from Nashville Guitar Show...

That's one cute guitar. I'm wondering if the prices on Specials and Juniors is going to stay up as recession starts to bite. I'll have to start saving...

Re: Back from Nashville Guitar Show...

I'm hoping it'll come down. If it does, I'd trade my Tweed Bassman for this baby.

I have a feeling the Bursts are going to stay up for a LONG time, but the Juniors and Specials will fluctuate a bit. (I hope)
