Hi guys

I just received my 04 LP Standard Premium Plus which I bought off ebay. Unfortunately i am not too happy with 2 things which I am hoping you would confirm as trivial.

First the neck humbucker has some dead spots. At certain volume settings there is just no sound. Any recommendations please?

Also I notice that the tailpiece stopbar is not screwed in all the way. Should this be left half unscrewed or is it preferable to screw it all the way down ?

Thanks for your help. Ive been wanting a LP forever and really hope these are just trivial matters!

Not sure about the neck pickup. Sounds like it's beat. If you like the
rest of the guitar and got a decent deal, then you can put another pickup in there. Or, contact the seller and tell him about it. Maybe he'll make good on it and pay for another pickup. You can give negative feedback if you're not satisfied, and seller's don't like that.

The tailpiece can be screwed all the way down. Some people raise the tail piece to reduce the tension on the strings, and they're easier to bend
that way. However, it sacrifices tone.

It is probably the volume pot... does it make any scratchy noises when you turn it? They are a wearable part... maybe try cleaning it before you go through the trouble of buying and installing a new pickup.
