Re: Vintage Gibson Owners, post your inventory here

guys, I think there's a touch of paranoia here. The thread is for people who have some old guitars and a forum to post some pics to share with others and talk about'em for a bit..

Granted someone makes a sick comment about "give me your address", and I know they're joking but that really isn't something to joke about and it must be enough to keep some from posting.

But seriously, I have no worry about someone coming to my ranch and taking my treasures. I have Smith & Wesson plus Security Systems and video. If someone wants my stuff they'll have to pay for it.

Sorry, I posted a thread that made someone feel uncomfortable, I figured most were above that.

RollingZep, man what a fine collection of vintage gear. I like your choices, very, very nice. I bet those took a little time to collect! Way to have the stones to show yours off bro!

Re: Vintage Gibson Owners, post your inventory here

Maybe that's my plan?

Maybe I'm posting my cool vintage stuff to lure some live bait in for a target challenge on INSANE level?

Re: Vintage Gibson Owners, post your inventory here

Well Im not worried about anyone entering my home because I wont be held responsible what my 3 little 100lbs German Shepherds might do to you.
I have a couple more but I need to take pics but most unfortunate I dont have any bursts. Maybe one day if they ever fall into realistic prices.

Re: Vintage Gibson Owners, post your inventory here

It's nice to know that there maybe 6 of the red 59 customs. I took mine to Hollywood GC and they said maybe 2 of them exist.

Mine came from Denmark!! It has a neck repair so the serial number is gone (probably forever).

I've been searching for someone who may know a little history about these guitars, but it's been a dead-end. This one is late 59, so I've tried to narrow down the serial number, but 59 customs aren't that well documented (like the bursts).
BTW - Guitar center let me play an all-original 59 burst, a 58 custom fretless wonder, and a 57 goldtop. I never thought I would ever even be in the same room with a real burst, but like a dumbass, I didn't take a picture.

Re: Vintage Gibson Owners, post your inventory here

The finish and all parts are original. The paf covers were re-plated, but original. None of the wiring has been touched. The neck repair looks weird, but it is very good and solid. This one came from Gruhn who told me it came from Denmark. The original owner died, and his wife sold it (to me). It sounds fantastic. 3 original pafs...
Too bad the original gibson ledgers are lost...

Here's my only vintage guitar. It's a 1968 ES-330 modified with early '60s PAF's.

DUDE! That 59 conversion is SIC!!!! Where in the hell did you get that flame??? Don't tell me that was a two piece killer flame under than 54 GT.
That looks like a CUSTOM top that replaced the stock top.

Please let me know the story behind that conversion, that conversion looks like the real deal and that maple flame looks worthy of gracing the BOTB book!

Frikkin awesome collection, I know you have to grin like a Cheshire cat everytime you look at those fine specimens.

That guitar has had an array of pickups in it over the past 30+ years that I've owned it. The pickups in the photo are a pair of Burstbuckers (1 & 2) with DMC Ver 1.5 covers.

The 1999 R9 guitars were IMOP the best run that Gibson ever did (especially the K9). You have a great looking guitar, I hope the sound is equal to it's looks.
