I just got the Murphy Bloomfield but am thinking about the Murphy Johnny Winter Firebird as part of the collection? Whats your read? I think its a 10K guitar down the road. Gibson is creating collectables in runs of 50-100 which to me are investment grade much like or art work or similar investment. The Winter has me interested

I am also looking for info re my 1995 58 Les Paul # 8 5075. Phil Jones, the head of Gibsons Historic Restoration Division says he and Murphy made approx 50 of these in 1994 before Murphy left and approx 100 in 95 and 96. These are the first runs for Historic 58's but one of the forum readers says he got the 95 Namm guitar and that was the first run. What do you or anyone reading this know about these 58's. The top is a "deep dish" Eastern maple, 8.2lbs and you cant find these 58's from the 94-96 period anywhere.

Give me your read on this. P.S. Gibson is going to do another run of 50th Anniversary 59's in a VOS finish

I'm not sure what to make of Gibson's half way vintage mentality .......
