Vintage Fender Super Reverb Amp for Sale [PICS]
I'm posting this thread in this forum because it's part of Peggy's vintage gear for sale. For those that don't know, Peggy is also selling her 1952 Standard, see link here: How much is this worth? 1952 Refin [PICS]
Here's my understanding about the amp: - All original except for Groove tubes. Original Fender tubes are included in this sale. - Serial # A 42158 Send me your offers via PM. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

No master. The controls, from left to right:
Vol, Treb, Bass ---Vol, Treb, Mid, Bass, Reverb, Speed, Intensity. On the back panel you can see the two RCA sockets for the foot pedal for the reverb and tremolo. This is one of the very early silver faces because it has the alloy trim around the speaker grill. Very nice amp. [EDIT]:I just about had a heart attack then. I went to look for the Fender Amp Field Guide to link to for this post, and it wasn't there!!. Eeek!! Found a mirror, though: http://www.thevintagesound.com/ffg/ Be still...[END EDIT] cheers, Splat

Re: Vintage Fender Super Reverb Amp for Sale [PICS]
Again...This really shoud be done out in the open on the forums...and with a set time limit.
Start a thread for offers only and give it 24 hours? 48 hours? that's only way to have a serious discussion and serious offer period... I understand she wants the most she can get for it while at the same buyers like us are looking to get the best deal but be fair at the same time...but throwing blind offers is not letting the market set the price...it may cuase Peggy to get less than the value or cause a buyer to way over pay not knowing what the previous offer is...just my $.02.. |

Re: Vintage Fender Super Reverb Amp for Sale [PICS]
Its a 68 or early 69. Looks to be in great condition. It would have the goofy AB568 schematic. I say goofy because its a standard, fixed-bias, amp that has 150-ohm cathode resistors hanging on the 6L6's. They sound constipated in comparision to earlier Blackfaces and even later Silverfaces. But, a competent tech can remove the CBS buggery, leaving a lovely amp with adjustable bias and a happy phase-inverter

It's probably worth around $1200. I paid $900 for my '74 this summer.
Shipping (Florida to Maine) was around $90.

Re: Vintage Fender Super Reverb Amp for Sale [PICS]
Good morning, fellas.
Well, not to upset anyone but Peggy has decided to hold onto her vintage gear until the economy improves. As a matter of fact, I encouraged her to do so. There were a few serious offers made and I want to thank those that did. If anyone wants to be contacted when the vintage Fender amp and '52 LP goes on sale in the near future, you can PM me your details (name/email/phone). Peggy won't do anything without contacting me, so if you have any questions contact me, please. Thanks and hope y'all have a great week. |
