Burst Picture of the Week

I'm going to start a tradition on this forum that I'm actually stealing from Tom Whitrock. Wanna give the man his due, he does know his bursts. Each week I will be posting a photo or series of photos celebrating those beautiful vintage Gibson Les Pauls built from 1958 to 1960.

I will start with a gathering of vintage Bursts. Just think each guitar in this picture is worth at least $250k !!

I call this pic BurstHeaven !

Nice shot!
Actually,if all original,each guitar in that pic is worth about 400,000 large.

Most of the guys that met at that Burst summit are pretty solid players too !!

For this week's Burst of the week , I have chosen a Lemondrop 1959 # 9-0428 This guitar was obviouslly exposed to lots of play wear sweat and light to make all the red fade into this great Unburst as it were .. Hope you all like it !! Let me know what you think !!

If that was my guitar , I wouldn't be wasting my time typing crap on this forum !! I'd be playing it every waking moment !!! I just like to feature a different vinatge burst every week as a feast for the senses !! Enjoy !!!

Probably because you didn't buy one when they
were at semi reasonable prices. Mid 70's around $1300.00.
Now they're crazy ridiculous.

Haha. I think every feels that they deserve to have an original burst. The drooling factor...its just not fair for the rest of us.

Ok here I have for your viewing pleasure #8-5418 ... My personal most favorite Burst ever !!!! She is a gorgeous 58 with amazing flowing flatsawn grain showing through a top blazing with flame !! If you enjoy the Burst pic of the week , post a little something so the thread stays at the top and more people get to see these masterpieces !!
