Re: Burst Pic of the week !! FlameBurst !!
I hear ya, Miss Honey isnt a newer Historic ,but its fooled alot of folks so far, She is drop dead gorgeous in looks and tone, My buddy Stu is relentless in trying to offer me cash for it, and he kiss's it everytime I let em play it, LOL . His early 59 Re Issue is no slouch for looks or tone either, I swear that guitar is a Guitar Trader " extra" has nitrocell laquer and came with the Shaw PAF's

For this week's Burst pic of the week I have chosen a stunning 1958 plaintop # 8-6897 .... Just goes to show plaintops can be just as beautiful as flamed Burst's !! Please post a comment and let me know what you think !!

Re: Burst Pic of the week !! Plaintop !!
I love that plaintop! I wonder what the burst looks like in person though... sometimes the cameras can pick up more or less of the red thats has/hasn't faded... but if she looks just like she does in the photos, damn thats HOT!

Re: Burst Pic of the week !! Plaintop !!
earlier this year I was in the local Gibson shop, and Jerry had a nice 58 tobacco burst plain, bout 8,25 lbs according to Jerry who weighed it Neck was more like a 59 though but gawd the tone was great , I was bout to dump a whole lotta gear to negotiate a deal , a week later this 27 year old guy comes in and buys it, and a Hendrix Re Issue Full stack
the clincher too was the guitar was faded |

Re: Burst Pic of the week !! Plaintop !!
Actually vintage LP's had alot more red in them !! This one has faded a bit ! You're just used to seeing what the custom shop considers cherryburst ! Also Gibson now paint the VOS like they have faded already ... Look at some 60 bursts and you'll see how much more red was there !
