since it's a '59 burst, i'm gonna blame the amp's EQ setting (too scooped), but that did sound poor to my ears.

I agree. I've played ( and owned ) reissues that sound a lot better than that.

Sounds like a fuzz pedal or poor use of a master volume amp to me.
The clean stuff was thin.
Not a great illustration of a guitar, but the buyer isn't going to care.

I second that opinion. Maybe the strings were old, or the tube gremlins were active when the clip was recorded?

It maybe wasn't the best tone but maybe we're being a bit too critical here.... It DID still sound pretty good... that guy is a decent player philgreen be nice
