I've followed this story in the media, and saw some comments on a few other online forums, yet somehow I never thought to look for a thread here. ::smacks forehead::

This thread is an amazing read. Keep going back to that one photo with Frampton holding the guitar, grinning ear to ear. The emotions posted in this thread just show how much we all believe in the power of music, and our guitars. makes me smile like Frampton in that photo.

Another update on Facebook.....

TOMORROW NIGHT'S THE NIGHT at the BEACON THEATER
I now have my lost and recently returned, '54 Les Paul in my possession again after 31 years! Gibson have done a fantastic job restoring it. I didn't want to do too much to it but just enough to have it playable again. It still has the many battle scares of it's ordeal of the plane crash and 30 odd years of ??? Many people to thank for this. Mike McGuire, Rick Gembar and all at Gibson Custom shop. Phil Bennett, Phil Crabtree and Gordon Kennedy for getting all the NOS parts that needed replacing. Also, Walter Carter and George Gruhn for giving me some great insight and confirming that it was originally a '54-'57 Black Beauty. The serial # was painted over before I was given it in 1971 by Marc Mariana.

I'm not really an emotional guy, but after re-reading through this thread, and watching the vids (both Gibson's and yours), I couldn't help but get a little choked-up.
