1968 and 1969 LP Owners, Ledger. Need assistance.

I heard in another thread that Gibson is no longer sending out pictures of the shipping ledger. So, I was thinking about trying to put together as many of the pages as I can for the new version of my site to share.

If anyone would like to send me a jpg of theirs, I would appreciate it. You don't need to specify which serial is yours if you like to keep that private. Thanks!

Email to moon weasel @ h ot ma i l .com (without the spaces of course.)

Thank you, thank you, and thanks again.

I hope this is temporary on Gibson's part.

Did you grab the two ledger scans on this page? Quick reply needed- 1969 GT value

I have one of the original scans if you need it.

Like me, the original ledgers are getting very old now. I suspect , Gibson is planning on storing them soon. Gibson should have them copied and use the photocopies for helping customers and the originals should be put away in fireproof vault for safe keeping.. There comes a point that handling these documents day in and out might wear them out soon or they might accidently disappear like the 50's records.

That latter scenario scares the crap out of me. I really hope they just hire a lacky to transfer it to a spreadsheet.

Why not just scan them? The scanned pages can be easily indexed for starting and ending serial numbers. And you could still wind up with a copy of the ledger page to tuck away with your Lester.

Re: 1968 and 1969 LP Owners, Ledger. Need assistance.

Gibson has been turning down requests for ledger copies lately.

If somebody knew the right person(s) there, maybe they would allow somebody to scan or copy the ledgers. They could then be made available for search on the internet and they wouldn't get bothered every single day for shipping date info.

What is the story behind the jumps in the serial numbers, like 985796? Have these ever shown up on real or fake guitars?

I found another scan and sent it your way.

Thank you for your website and doing this to help preserve an important part of Gibson's history!

Kudos to you,moonweasel,for doing this.
I think it's invaluable that this is done for future wood-hounds such as us.

Best of luck

I applaud your efforts in this endeavour - sites like your own and Julio's burstserial are invaluable resources. Good luck!
