replace tuners on '60 doublecut junior
I have an all-original '60 Jr that sounds great, and is becoming one of my main gigging guitars, but those original tuners are pretty chintzy and it really doesn't stay in tune very well.
I'm thinking of finding some direct replacement modern tuners that actually work, but I definitely don't want to drill or do anything that permanently devalues the collector value either. I'm also thinking of an adjustable saddle bridge to replace the original wraparound, but that doesn't seem like a problem. Has anyone been through this, or have any recommendations on high-quality direct replacement parts that won't make me drill any new holes? Thanks. |

Re: replace tuners on '60 doublecut junior
If your Klusons are worn by age and lossing tune, you could just buy new Kluson reproductions in the same 3 on a plate mount and put your originals in the case for the resale.
