Clapton Les Paul Videos

I know its probably rare, but does anyone have any footage of Clapton playing his Les Paul? I really love that tone he had on Beano and stuff, and I would love to see Clapton playing his LP live, also does anyone have any information about this LP? Color etc, if so tell me up I would love to hear and would really appreciate it

Re: Clapton Les Paul Videos

Easy to find info with Google. It is surmised to be a 1960. It was stolen soon after the Beano album was released.

This isn't the Beano Les Paul, but:

YouTube - Eric Clapton & George Harrison - While My Guitar

Re: Clapton Les Paul Videos

Did anyone else think that EC is struggling a bit in that clip, especially in the first solo? Almost as if all those years of playing nothing but Strats has softened him up!

I read Eric's book, he was probably in the midst of alcoholism at the time.

Rare Late Clapton on a Burst! Ringo, Harrison, Elton, Lynn, Phil Collins, more..

It's not a video, but this is some of my favorite reading and pictures of Eric and some Les Pauls.

Clapton - The early years

Re: Clapton Les Paul Videos

EC's first LP(the one known as the Beano burst and stolen in June/July '66 during Cream rehearsals) was more of a plain top from what we've seen.

Re: Clapton Les Paul Videos

nice video! I love those funny record playing band things from back then very humorous. But very cool to see Clapton on a Les Paul with Cream before they stole it, he sounded so great with Gibsons now a days his tone is soo thin it kills me!

Ahh... the '60 cherry sunburst he bought from Andy Summers after some 'mild' hassling. His third LP after the Beano which was stolen in summer '66 & the Keef '59 with the Bigsby. Sadly this one was probably stolen about late March '67.

Re: Clapton Les Paul Videos

it looks a little to small to be a Superlead, Im not sure what it is...It probley wasnt a head he used often as even the Cabinet looked different and there not really playing live its just a record, so possibly its just something the studio had.
