Re: An uncirculated 59 discovered in Manhattan
I have a feeling we are going to see more vintage gear surface over the next several years as the original owners and early collectors age and start letting go of their gear.

Re: An uncirculated 59 discovered in Manhattan
Probably afraid someone will claim it was originally thiers and was stolen....think that happened with Ed King and that collector who has all those bursts (Dirk something)

Re: An uncirculated 59 discovered in Manhattan
Yeah, the thread had a well known NY area luthier named as helping the owner and also where the guitar was being stored, they were both probably getting inundated with calls and offers.
I wish I had copied and saved the pictures instead of just linking them! I'll keep looking over at TGP for a new thread to emerge. |

I forgot to save the pics as well >.< For a sec I thought: AH! I saved pics of that one.
But I saved a pic from another burst claimed uncirculated (9-0836). Pity. Was a pretty one!

Wonder if that means it has sold? Very interesting to see the guitar like it was found. It undoubtably needs to be given a bath.

Re: An uncirculated 59 discovered in Manhattan
I would put a Floyd Rose on it first thing (ha ha, kidding of course!). My parents have everything + the sink in their attic, but sadly I don't think one of these is up there...

Re: An uncirculated 59 discovered in Manhattan
I saw this guitar a couple hours ago in Manhattan, and recognized it from this thread right away. Price tag is $220k
I got a snapshot, but I can't upload it until I get to a pc.

Thanks for sharing, atheos. Looks a lot like the Page #1 in many ways. (I don't care what nicolasrivera says
)

Here's the same pickshure, with the red saturation balanced. Atheos, is this a more accurate representation of what you saw?
