$175 ANY PICKUP SET - ReWind Electric Memorial Day Sale

That's $25-75 off every set. Any set, any options you want, including the "Vintage Pulls Series" with any degree of aging you would like. ALSO, exclusively for MLP members, I will include a FREE set of NOS PIO tone caps and mounting hardware.

This is the best deal I've ever run. My intro sale was slightly less for unaged and uncovered pickups but did not include the caps and hardware, nor did I have a few of the cosmetic improvements like the beautiful waterslide logo decals, covers, or super accurate vintage braided shield wire. I've also improved my taping and soldering methods just slightly to be more vintage accurate to 1950's Kalamazoo PAFs.

These are made from the absolute best parts I can possibly make or source and in every case possible I use a US supplier. Not a single part of my pickups comes from AllParts, StewMac or eBay. These are machine wound on vintage winding machines that I've modified to use digital counters and Azonic tensioning systems for accurate reproduction of successful builds. There are many ways to achieve wonderful PAF like tones. This is just how I choose to do mine. I hope you enjoy the results as much as I enjoy building each one.

How do you get to the deal? Easy just buy them off my website. I've already adjusted the prices for this weekend only.

ReWind : Retro Style Electric Guitar Pickups

Crème Brûlée Set

High Output Set

Medium Output Set

Low Output Set

PS - polished nickel silver covers are backordered two weeks. If you want those covers, I can ship the pickups without and send the covers later or take the order now and ship assembled when the covers arrive. Your choice.

Re: $175 ANY PICKUP SET - ReWind Electric Memorial Day Sale

Now this is what I've been waiting to sit and listen to. I must have missed them if they've already been put out here for us before, but I didn't hear a bad one in the bunch. I think you're on to something with these James.

I'll end up missing your sale but will be in touch before long.
Thanks for the video's and the friendship my man.

Re: $175 ANY PICKUP SET - ReWind Electric Memorial Day Sale

Thanks, Stratto. All these videos and more are on my website, ReWind : Retro Style Electric Guitar Pickups, as well as my YouTube channel. I just picked my two favorite videos of each pickup set for this thread.

btw - I love you, MLP.

I really mean that. ReWind has been doing pretty good. It's not paying the bills and I'm still working a fulltime job, of course, but it's doing MUCH better than I ever could have expected so quickly and it all started right here. I want you to know that EVERY penny I have ever made from sales, as well as EVERY penny I can spare (and many more than I can't) from my personal money, my job, and my family budget has gone right back into ReWind so that I can make better products, keep selling them at reasonable prices, get them out the door and into your guitars faster, buy better custom parts from American suppliers, develop relationships with other small builders, suppliers, manufacturers and support the music community and the small winder community.

This has become most of my life since about November when I went public with my winding projects. I stay up late every night working on this and work every weekend and holiday day doing it. I love it more than most anything in life other than friends, family, and music itself and I'm unexpressably grateful for all the wonderful support and encouragement I've been shown here at MLP as well as the friends I've gained throughout the process.

Keep on rocking MLP! Thank you SO much. I'm truly humbled.

The Creme Burlee's are really great folks. If you want better then Gibson Made 57 Classic and Classic Plus James Creme Burlee's are the ones to get.

Yep, the same ones and of course now I have a buyer for them, so I'll just go a head and order a set from the website. Always happy to support our forum vendors whenever possible.

If they show up in time, I'll wrap one lucky buyer's pickups up in one of these ReWind Electric T-shirts. They are really for the Philly show and I don't have many, but I'll spare one for this promo anyway.

What magnets did you end up with in the High Output PAF set, Steve? Are those the stock A4s?

i tried all of the magnets and your stock set game me the best punch and clarity.

especially with some gain, they did not mush out

a much better fit for me and my playing style, although this clip doesnt really do those tight rhythms where i need it tight.

but as you can see, these pickups sound great clean.

the neck and the bridge really can sing and growl with a little gain!

I know. They are expensive though. They are silkscreened with a metallic pantone color onto Hanes shirts. I didn't want to compromise on quality. I just hate it when a shirt has a tight neck or the sleeves just aren't in the right place. I have so many badass t-shirts that I never wear because they are made on generic shirts and just aren't comfy. I want people to wear these until they are relic'ed' lol!

I'm hoping that after Philly I can afford to order a larger batch and get them at a better price.

I'll say this too - that bucker graphic is a scan I did of an actual MLP member's PAF.

Re: $175 ANY PICKUP SET - ReWind Electric Memorial Day Sale

Thats what I like about you James. You don't Fekk around with cheap sh*t, pushing it off on unsuspected buyers. When you order from Re Wind Electric you get a top quality product. This applies the same with our many vendors here.

Do the creme Brulee's take well to a little gain?

Re: $175 ANY PICKUP SET - ReWind Electric Memorial Day Sale

The Creme Brûlées can do both high and low gain great. I do think they really shine and come to life with at least a little crunch/overdrive or in a brighter (acoustically) guitar to bring out the top end. They are a warmer pickup compared to my others. Now, that said - they are so much more open and detailed on the top end than a '57 Classic/Classic + set, but with that same overall feel of a closely matched coils/A2 PAF with the creamy thick quality that reminds you what bold humbuckers are all about.

I've you've ever played a '57 Classic set - imagine that with some more top end, no mud, no harshness and the singing open airy PAF character that the Gibbys are just straight-up lacking. The Creme Brûlée set came about because I wanted to have a '57 Classic/Classic + set that didn't have the shortcomings of Gibson's version. '57s are great PAFs and I think they are Gibson's best current offering, but they just aren't quite there and don't quite sound like PAFs to me. I think the flaws are the exactly matched coils at 5000 turns each (no early PAF had exact coils), the wax potting (no PAF had wax potting) and the lack of a quality rough cast magnet and proper old-style PE wire. I addressed all of those and in my very first attempt nailed it exactly how I wanted. It was pretty simple compared to all the trial and error that lead to my other PAFs.

Another strong point of the Creme Brûlées I've come to find is that with just a few extra turns of copper on the screw coils and an A5/A4 magnet combo in a set they really make a FANTASTIC high gain modern rock/metal pickup that can clean up well to a bright pretty detailed tone. I've done this for a few customers (including the video of John Ellison playing above) with great success and it almost deserves to be its own model of pickup.

Custom sets are included in the sale price above and are always available from me for no additional charge. My goal is to make sure every customer is THRILLED about their new ReWind pickups no matter what it takes. It does me no good to sell you something that you won't want to play and talk about all the time.

Aged & NOS baseplates compared:

I love how the decals blister up a bit and age like the PATENT APPLIED FOR stickers.

Re: $175 ANY PICKUP SET - ReWind Electric Memorial Day Sale

I've been busting my fingers and running the humbucker winder HOT this weekend! Lots of pickups on the bench. I LOVE IT!! Keep me busy. Keep me working hard. I'm am your slave to the wind.

...or maybe the lead solder fumes are getting to me?

Either way - there's still time to cash in on this promo and get some retro-wound sounds and ReWind time!

Now is my favorite part of the day - testing lots of pickups and taking notes!

Re: $175 ANY PICKUP SET - ReWind Electric Memorial Day Sale

Still some time to get your ReWind Electric pickups on the build list at this fantastic price!

...for those that have already ordered, THANK YOU! I'm getting lots of work done and staying on top of everything. There should be no increased wait times regardless of the higher work load as a result of the sale. Things are ROCKING at the ReWind compound right now. I've never build so many pickups in one weekend It feels GREAT!
