Re: Get Fuelie equipped for $150.00

lol, Kevin, I know you from another board and have a set on order with you, coil tapped humbuckers and wiring for an Epi LP should give it away. I just joined here a few days ago.

I am buying another LP next Saturday if it sounds and feels right. It's a Plus Top FX with the Floyd Rose and coil tapped humbuckers. Evidently Epiphone has discontinued it and I am getting a really good deal on it. They are going for more used and refurbed than I am getting this one for brand new.

Thanks Ken....

Wait for it.

Things are.... Picking up...... Bad pun intended.

Sure thing on the screw and slug swap. You should have asked about that out of the gate and I would have done it. I only have one set of gold stuff right now but they are for a sold set. I'll get some more coming.

The specs on your set changed a little but you can trust me... I think.

When I get a second I'll type it out in a PM.

Re: Get Fuelie equipped for $150.00

Our very own Lespaulguy has reported back to me about Pro Mod set I sent him a couple weeks ago to put in his SG. With his permission I thought I would share it with you guys.

This was only the 2nd gig with the new line up but it was lightyears better then the first. (which was not bad either).

The SG performed very very well.
I just love it when the "blanket" gets lifted after these mods.

Your PUPS are superb Kevin
I play with gain, for the most part but there was one song......Planet Caravan by Sabbath where the rest of the guys go acoustic and bongo's.

I get to play the SG on this and the solo at the end (kind of a jazzy minor pent thing) is a "neck position tone on 6" sound and it was soooo beautiful.

The articulation, note seperation was so clear.
This was a true test. This solos tone can get lost in a lesser PUP.

The Pro Mods made grade with flying colours.

Of course, with a little bit of gain / overdrive they performed just as well.
A nice bite to the bridge.....and a very nice murmer/growl to the neck.

But I can't stipulate enough regarding how clear the note seperation was.

I couldn't be more pleased.

Thanks Kevin and I will be in touch.

Regards
Kevin

PS: Feel free to post up any of these comments....I fully endorse these PUPS

So...... I have 8 sets left at my intro price.

Oh, and I just so happen to have enough parts to build about 5 sets of vintage humbuckers in Plain Jane, Super Stock, or Gasser flavor on hand.

More good stuff to come!

Ah Strat pickups. I developed those before I did humbuckers. The problem is all of the sets I have built were sold before I could get clips for my website. I do have a Mexican Strat here right now for an install but it's HSS. I won't have that done for a few weeks.

On the flip side a local player gets a TON of compliments around here about his Strat set I did for him. They were my Gasser series in 60's flavor.

I'm confident I can do something nice for you but I don't have any clips that capture them in a positive light at the moment. My coil designs get really good harmonic content and really capture the hollow neck Strat sound nicely.

Rock on Frank. I'm going to run them through my guitar here shortly and ship them out. I have TKO's set in right now and plan to record tomorrow.

I'm stoked man. That guitar is a beauty and reminds me of a super clean hot rod.

As of today I have a few hours of play time in your set. Yesterday they were stellar, today they boxed up a little bit which is normal. Tomorrow they should be back to normal and I'll try to record, pull them, and get ready to ship. You should have them by the weekend.

With the A4's they have a little less honk than the A2's but after seeing some of your playing on the Youtube I think the A4's are going to suit you just fine.

As they sit right now the bridge really likes the screws up a little bit. It's almost like adding sugar. I think I'm about 1/4" under the strings right now. I'll leave the screws where I have them and let you tune to taste.

I'm excited!!! can't wait to finish her up and take her for a test drive.
This is shaping up to be the last guitar I'll build for myself for quite a while.
I'll post up a video on YT when I dial her in.

Me to man!

I was able to get a little Marshall clean stuff this afternoon.

This is just a preset on amp farm called "Beautiful Clean"

I turned off the chorus and the guitar controls are wide open.

Clip goes bridge - middle - neck.

I'm usually an A2 man in a low output, but those A4s have a real nice match with your coils, Kevin!

Super sweet sounding. Nice and round. They got "that thing" going on!
