Re: RUDE MOOD Amplifiers
Damn, this thing sounds good. So "rich" - the only single word that comes to mind so far.
So many tones, I can't settle on a manageable number to make sound clips of. Maybe tomorrow.

Skittens approves, though she's constantly making fine tonal adjustments.

Re: RUDE MOOD Amplifiers
I just discovered a clipping problem with my recording software, so this blows out when it shouldn't, but man - it's still exceedingly sweet. High-gain/distortion clips coming when I get the clipping problem solved.

Re: RUDE MOOD Amplifiers
Should I tell you before you say whether or not it sounds decent?
![]() Aw, what the heck... That's a Blue Snowball mic about 6" in front of the center of the cabinet, going straight into a Dell PC running MixCraft. I've much refinement to do, but that's not a bad approximation of what I hear.

Re: RUDE MOOD Amplifiers
River,
I'm late to the party, but congratulations on your new RUDE MOOD. I saw Randelli at ACL today and he said that you were happily grovin' with it. I told you you would like it !

Re: RUDE MOOD Amplifiers
SOOOOO Happy that River loves his amp!!!
So let me remind everyone that the MLP special price for the RUDE MOOD is $1,500. I have a Champ rebuild, a HELLFIRE build, and 2 guitar setups on my workbench; so now would be a good time to get on the buyers list

Re: RUDE MOOD Amplifiers
I wanted to show the RUDE at it's max gain. It get's really compressed and creamy once it gets above a certain level - just what I wanted!
It really does Jeff Beck, Robin Trower tones well. I always play parts of this song through it; but I didn't know the whole song until tonight. I wrote out the tab (first time) and found the chords for the middle power section (by ear) and practiced to iTunes until I could play it pretty well. There are rough spots, loose phrasing, clunks here and there. I should have gone to the neck pickup for the bridge. I should have gone to middle position (OOP) or dialed the volume down at the power section to avoid clipping. Here it is in one take (took 4 attempts) hope you can see what the Rude can do. Oh yeah, there was some MOOD in the mix as well; and I had to keep the MV and V lower than I wanted because it got kind of late

Re: RUDE MOOD Amplifiers
Very, very nicely done !
![]() Have you seen the J. Beck Live at Ronnie Scott's video ? He starts off with Beck's Bolero. The only thing you are missing is the little micro-tonal twiddles that he does with the whammy bar. Oh, and the cute little Tal Wilkenfeld on Bass. ![]() Yeah, the amp sounds good. |

Re: RUDE MOOD Amplifiers
well I don't have any recording equipment to speak of - just a flip camera. I would have liked to get the rythm parts, and the guitar scratch, hard to cover all that is going on there.
I guess I should have used my strat as well........ Oh well it was a fun experience

Nice amp! Really like the aggressive side to it.
I couldn't see a price on the website though?

Re: RUDE MOOD Amplifiers
I have a new website that is almost ready to go online. I just need to get the shopping cart wrapped up with copy and pics.
The RUDE MOOD 2x10 will be sold for $1700, with a MLP code that will get it back to the special price of $1500. Most people are ordering through the email function on the current site: randy@rudemoodamp.com

Re: RUDE MOOD Amplifiers
(Keep building them, I am hoping to get a 4x10 eventually. I have some other expenses first so I am thinking about a year from now. Wish it was sooner. Peace) Here is an idea I just had, possible for an fx loop per side? (For some reason the JC-120 just popped into my mind... it has that nice 3D chorus going on... or any ideas that you come up.)

If all goes well I should have my 4x10 cabinet the end of next week! I guess I should order the Weber's to go inside

Re: RUDE MOOD Amplifiers
I have been very curious about a design that would include 2 10's and 2 6x9 and a pair of tweeters. The reson I am interested is, whenever you buy a stereo or go shoping for a highend sound system you want different sized speakers (preferably set on a correct freq bypass) so you can hear all the range of sound. Why is it on stereo amps people play through a subwoofer?
