Re: RUDE MOOD Amplifiers

004 is woodshedding a couple of old Creedence songs in D standard tuning, opening up a whole new world of tones he didn't know were in there.

Want Swamp-Blues tone, a la "Born on the Bayou"? Just drop your tuning to D standard, crank the reverb, tremolo speed 11:00, swell 2:00.

I would appreciate it if you two would quit talking about your Rude Mood Amp settings until I can get Randy to build one for me

Seriously, keep posting your settings. I am looking forward to trying them out someday

Re: RUDE MOOD Amplifiers

OK this is a NEW incredible thing I experienced with Sean's 008!

Feedback! I know, right, but FEEDBACK!!!

The RUDE side is really easy to push into those great harmonic feedback; this is no secret. But tonight I was keeping a constant note on the MOOD and getting that great end-of-phrase feedback on the RUDE. Truly stunning!

Anyone else getting this?

All the time, but I rarely run mine with the volumes below the 12 o'clock position; the louder the amp is set, the easier it is to get that lovely feedback. In fact, going all the way back to the LA Amp Show, there were only two amp IN THE WHOLE SHOW that were good for controlled feedback.

I still don't have Cubase installed on my new computer, but I had an engineer over last night, and he put some mics on the RM for a few minutes. If the environmental noise doesn't ruin it, I'll post up the clips. Incidentally, as most experienced engineers do, he instantly fell in love with how easy it was to get a multi-amp sound from the RM, and even though I kept my mouth shut about it, after a few seconds of listening to me playing, he asked, "What's that swirling sound, are these 2 amps totally discrete from each other?"

He's enthralled, and we have plans for him to come by after the semester is over to play with his expensive mic collection, and see what kinda fun we can have with the RM.

Yes! That's the main reason why I prefer the hollow bodied lines over the solid in most instances, just love the hollow resonant overtones and the feedback you can get, I find a tremelo of some sort helps me to tame it down some when it gets crazy

Re: RUDE MOOD Amplifiers

004 got a run for her money at last night's open mic, being the "house amp" for six hours that were heavily-attended and musically diverse (putting it mildly). Amplified everything from acoustics to Super Strats with pedal boards the size of New Jersey, over full-kit drumming backing most of it.

I'm proud of her, she kept up with what can only be described as "a bit too loud ", and the volume controls never went past 2:00.

Re: RUDE MOOD Amplifiers

I found the most amazing setting for RUDE today..... BUT I DON"T KNOW WHAT IT IS!!!!!!!

I was goofing around with Ginger, looking for something different, and going through the ultra-hot 22K bridge with the volume at 7. I twiddled the RUDE pots until I had a perfect 'have a drink on me' setting. Problem? I don't have the chicken heads on so I am not certain where they pots are pointed.

I do know that the Volume was dialed, the Drive was rather low, and the Master was probably mid way up. I have no idea where the tones were - I think the Treble would be about 10, the Mid about 2, and the Bass about 3.

I did notice that the overall tone of this setting was very dependent on the Drive knob. It almost had a parametric shift in presence and brightness. As the Drive went up from 0 the mids and highs became more pronounced.

Someone play around with these settings and see what you find. I imagine yours will be different than mine, as I doubt any of you have a 4-coil humbucker in your bridge, but see what you think about the interaction of the Drive and Volume gain stages.

Must be In the air today to mess with the Rude Mood Settings! I just got a Gibby '61 GA-79 RV today, and I have been using my RM to try and replicate a similar tone. Really amazing amp with an amazing Reverb that just sustains and goes deeeeeppppp. I am almost there, will post settings when I find the sweet spot!

Re: RUDE MOOD Amplifiers

Here is what I have so far to match up with a '61 Gibson GA-79RV, I think I am pretty close. Note the reverb is at full blast, the reverb tank on the '61 is from a Hammond Organ and just goes deep as hell, sounds like your underwater! I will continue to work on this, I was inspired because the GA-79RV is a really neat and interesting amp.....reminds me ALOT of my Rude Mood!

10-11-9-11-1-12-----3-9-11-5-7-12 ENJOY!

Oh yeah - that tremolo THROBS!!

It was surprisingly clean to me. I expected more growl from the RUDE based on the Drive and Volume settings. Very nice!
