Hey I had a guy email me really liking the RUDE MOOD. He asked about pricing and all the normal stuff. I told him the 2x10 sells for $1,900, directed him to YouTube, and asked where he had heard about it.

Turns out he is a new member here at MLP! I was happy to point out the MLP discounted price of $1,500 for the 2x10 combo. He was really happy about the $400 savings.

So, just to make sure everyone is up to speed, I offer special pricing for MLP members:

Head $1,350 (normally $1,750)


2x10 combo $1,500 (normally $1,900)


4x10 combo $1,750 (normally $2,150)

I could have wandered on like that for quite a while.

For this clip, it was a borrowed Ibanez RG with an old Gibson humbucker in the bridge position. A very cheap and ugly guitar.

Mudfinger,

Randelli has told me many times in the past about your playing through the Rude Mood. I believed him, but like all things, was skeptical until I had direct evidence.

Just what that amp is made for : taste, dynamics and tone for days.

Not so sure of the Leslie West comparison, River, as Leslie very rarely brings the "clean" along with the "crunch".

Man, I love to hear these demos from real "playas" - really brings it for showing what the special talent of that amp is : schizophrenia, but the good kind !

Glad you guys enjoyed the playing.

This little Zoom recorder is cool, and I'm still experimenting with camera placement and such, but so far, nothing I've recorded with it has come anywhere near doing the Rude Mood justice.

Accordingly, I've put the word out to some of the engineers I work with, and I expect to have something more faithful to what I'm hearing in the room with this amp, sometime soon.

If I come up with anything else cool between now and then, I'll post it.

You are the second amp builder i have been intrigued by located in austin.

I do have matching 2x10 and 4x10 cabs, or 2x12 and 4x12 cabs, or a pair of 2x12's would be really nice too!

Did a solo gig at the bar last night. Was very well received and invited back for next Wednesday. Did the first half acoustic, second half Tele, all through the RM. Had ‘em dancing in the aisles.





It's remarkable to me how clear and earthy the Martin (with a Fishman 1 piezo system) sounds with the same settings and at the same relative/perceived volume as the Tele breaks it up into Rory Gallagher territory.

What was in your set list? I bet it confused a few when 'Kashmir' or 'when the levee breaks' flew out of that tele.....

It's mostly old R&R and Blues-Rock standards I can do the vocals for. But I do some of them with a LOT of grind, as would Cheap Trick, Led Zeppelin, or Cactus. The Tele gets to sounding very much like not-a-Tele, especially as the evening wears on and the dancers get loose.

I got long speaker cable in yesterday, and now have my cabs separated by about 6' on centers. At first it just sounded like a mono record through a stereo (apparent source in the middle), but with more relaxed and aggressive playing the "swirl-surround" effect really came through. It's delicious.

I was getting some strange emails from my cabinet supplier after I placed tex_lt's order. From someone I hadn't talked to before. It became clear to me that this was a new person and didn't know my order inside and out like my regular person.

It turns out that my supplier has sold and I have a new supplier to handle all of my needs. I will have the same great cabinets and service; but now it is coming from Mojotone.com - The Best source for Vintage Amp Parts, Cabinets, Guitar Parts, Bass Parts, and Pickup Parts
