Amp speaker question....

I just got a Line 6 Spider II amp in trade from a friend. It is made in China (like every other dang thing for sale in this country), however, it is equipped with a speaker that is evidently a British-made Celestion. It is marked thusly: Celestion Custom Design C12P-80 8 Ohms Exclusively For Line 6.
Do any of you amp geenyuses know anything about this speaker? Is it a good one? Would it work in a Fender amp?
Thanks in advance for the flurry of replies and advice, good and otherwise, that you are going to give me.

Re: Amp speaker question....

I think all Celestions are made in Asia now (I think China but am not sure).

Would it sound as good as the speaker in your Fender? All you can do is give it a try.

Re: Amp speaker question....

Most of the magnets I've seen on these speakers are pretty small, and look more like a speaker from a stereo cab.

You can try it, but I'd bet it wouldn't sound that great.

Just my 2 centivos.

Re: Amp speaker question....

what's the power rating on it.....I remember the Celestion 70/80 was a Traymor exclusive that made it to regular production....I wouldn't be surprised if it's basically the same speaker if it's rated at 80 Watts....pics might help

Re: Amp speaker question....

I don't think it would sound good. Don't modelling amps have a neutral speaker to work with all the amp models and speaker sims?
Wouldn't it sound kind of dull with a fender amp? I think you would want a speaker voiced for that type of amp.

Not that I know what I'm talking about
But just my .02

Nope, the Heritage Series Speakers are still made in
the UK, they cost allot more to.
Speakers made in UK still are

Alnico Blue
Alnico Gold
G12M Heritage Greenback
G12H Heritage Greenback
G1265 Heritage Series
G12 EVH

The rest are made in China, but if yours were
manufactured before Oct07 they were also
made in the UK
The ones in China are built to the exact same
specs and materials as the UK speakers though.
