Jensen Copper Foil Paper In Oil Caps
Ive read a bit on these and all the audiophiles claim these are the cream of the crop... A bit on the pricey side though! I was just curious to see if anyones ever heard them in a LP... or other guitar for that matter, and if they were that good? I dont plan on spending that much on caps.... I have a set of .033 and .047 orange drop 715p's on the way that im going to try, ive never messed with the caps so im eager to give them a try... i did a lot of looking around before i got them and chose them for the good review/price ratio... now im just curious about other types and ive never seen much said about the jensens as far as guitar use goes... heres a link to them on fleabay lol

Re: Jensen Copper Foil Paper In Oil Caps
I've used them many a time with much satisfaction. They sound marginally better ( ie warmer more vintagey ) than regular aluminium foils that Jensen manufacture too.
My only complaint is that their true cpacitance varies a bit more than other caps. The best thing is to usea meter and select them according to their real value. Hope this helps!!

I prefer the Qs but... never thought the Jensens were very thin sounding, especially the copper foil version. I still have one in my G&L bass and I love it.

Actually, in my experince (which is installing Jensen's & Vitamin Q's hundreds of times over the years), I find the Jensen's warmer/'woodier"/fatter than the Vitamin Q's... x2

Re: Jensen Copper Foil Paper In Oil Caps
really? Like I said I like both and I use both all time so...
I also like SoZos for the tone control in single coil loaded guitars

Re: Jensen Copper Foil Paper In Oil Caps
This thread has been dead for three years, but I suppose now that it's been bumped already I'll chime in and say that I love the Angela Copper Foil PIO caps in LPs. I've A/B'd them in the same guitar as other (tested for equal value) caps with alligator clips while playing. I thought they were very similar to Zoso caps and the RS Super Caps in sound, but the Angelas definitely had just a touch more clarity.

Re: Jensen Copper Foil Paper In Oil Caps
the jensen I am using the most these days is in my G&L 1980 bass... nice. Also it cost me nothing... I found it inside an old 70's TV set .... cool or what?
