Does replacing wiring help tone?

Ok, quick question. I have an '09 SG that I replaced the pcb board with a RS Guitarworks setup. My question is that since I used the little bitty wires that used to connect to the pcb board am I missing out on some better tone by not replacing them? I only kept them because they were already attached to the toggle switch and just wired them to where they needed to go after cutting off the connector. I'm not great at soldering so that's why I didn't yank those wires.

I dont think it should matter that much

Given that the signal finds its way down the pickup "magnet" wire (i.e. about half a mile of seriously thin stuff) it always surprises me when people worry about wire gauge so much (and wire type to an extent).

I can't really hear the difference, but there are plenty that will tell you they can.

Some guys swear that they have the ears to hear the difference between old cloth insulated / solid core wiring and modern wire. If what they say is true, I feel sorry for them............................for their's is a miserable existence in tone hell seeking the elusive holy grail.

My take - internal guitar signals are low level. As long as the wire is serviceable, routed correctly, soldering done well, and has no long loops of excess wire, there is no difference.

But I'll never profess to having 24K gold plated ears.................

if you dont want those connectors anymore, stick em in an envelope and mail them to me.
