In Your Face, Corksniffer...

The vice president of marketing for Seymour Duncan, Evan Skopp, said this on the video posted at the end (the quote starts at 3:09).

"Theres people that can hear the difference between a single ply pickguard and a 3-ply pickguard. I can't. But I don't have the greatest ears in the world. I've got pretty good ears, but those people... There are people that can tell what kind of batteries are in your stomp box or what direction your cable is plugged in. And for those people, you've got to make it absolutely right, because, they can hear. (...) I'm kind of glad I can't hear on that level, it would drive me crazy."

LOL

But he does it with style. Almost a back handed compliment.

I didn't hear how he was making fun of their damanding customers. He was saying he has a friend at a major guitar company who says that there are people who can tell the difference between those things. He said he couldn't tell the difference, and he's glad he couldn't.

He went on to say that they made their spacers for vintage pickups out of maple for the people who take the pickups apart.

Maybe that's why Eric Johnson doesn't use Seymour Duncan pickups...

Eric Johnson has his pickups wound by a dozen nude vestal virgins under a full Moon on the Altar of Tone. These virgins are then sacrificed to the Gods of Tone.

You appear to be inmune to sarcasm.

I tried doing that. Couldn't find any virgin around.
