LINE 6 POD Pocket settings

I have been playing with my Line 6 POD Pocket and trying to adjust the manual settings. On their website, they listed the many amp models that the processor provides, but since the names are copyrighted, the names have been changed on the settings. I scoured their website and the internet in general, but fell short in finding which setting applies to which amp.

Does anybody have this knowledge of what amp and head models the setting go with? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

affrey: Check out section 3-1 of the Pocket POD reference manual.

http://line6.com/data/l/0a0600721203...%20English.pdf

Unless I'm mistaken, the info you're looking for is right there.

Re: LINE 6 POD Pocket settings

DagerOne, that is amazing! That's exactly what I was looking for. I didn't get that manual with mine. I just got the little pocket manual. I will definately print this out and save it. Thanks again for your help.

Why do they even give you those little quick start manuals? I bought mine brand new and this is the first time I am seeing this! Thanks again!

Pocket Pods rock!

I use one for quiet headphone practice and it sounds great.

Re: LINE 6 POD Pocket settings

I have the Pocket Pod as well. Sad thing is I can't get it to configure on my main desktop computer. I have use a small netbook to get anything to sync with it through the Vyzex software. If I could fix that, I'd be a happy camper. I dug around in their knowledge base and found a fix through regedit, but it still won't configure...

Other than that software issue, I like it.

That's what I originally purchased mine for...quiet headphone practice but I got addicted to all the settings!

Now that I know how to customize my tone with different amp head and cabinet simulations, the world is wide open. It does an excellent job getting the tone that I am seeking. It takes a little tweaking, but it is worth it in the end!

and to Hawk, their site is difficult to find anything (at least from my experience). I use a laptop to sync mine and I never tried it on a desktop PC, so I don't have any experience there.

I am going to have to look into getting an AC adapter for it because the more effects and settings you use, it sucks that battery life. I am only getting around 4 hours out of set of batteries.

Here is the Line 6 store to buy the power supply.

https://www.globalfulfillment.net/gf...=98%20DC1%20US

If you buy one aftermarket, make sure it meets spec. The Pod calls for
Quote:
Output: 9.6v, 200mA, center negative polarity
You'll find a lot of them with center positive, stay away from those.

I found one at our house that my daughter uses to power her synth. It has multiple ends and polarity configurations. Also, it ranges up to 12V. My wife said that it was around 7-8 Dollars at WalMart. It worked great on the POD and a few of my other pedals.

Re: LINE 6 POD Pocket settings

I had a Pocket Pod and luv'd the tones, but the whole menu thing befuddled me.. especially since I was using this thing late at night when I should have been sleeping.

Pocket Pod Express cured that! Simple enough, even I can use it!

And, it has good enough tones to inspire.. very important!

I agree and disagree with a mutual respect. The tones from the Line 6 POD products are amazing! The menu and controls are confusing. You have to hold save and press up for one option. Hold 2 buttons at the same time and cycle through a different set of options. It is very difficult to learn. Their software if cool but again confusing and didn't fit my needs at the time.

However, the inspiring tones kept me playing with this toy. The documentation that I recieved with my brand new unit is not the same as the .pdf file that was posted on here. One I finally learned how to acheive the tone that I want, save it, and switch easily back and forth between tones using the user banks and software. I am even more inspired!

I think their documentation that they packed was unacceptable. I just got the quick start guide with mine...WTF! I liked the POD before...I love the thing now <---now that I know how to use it!

The problem I had with the Express was that it nearly has the same settings as my line 6 amp.

No offense taken. I liked the RP90, but I own the Line 6 POD. I wasn't too fond of the drum machine settings though. I do like the ability for the price to have it foot controlled. Yo have to buy a more expensive POD to get those features. IMO, although the RP90 is easier to use, I like the tones of the Line 6 better.
