Over or under before saddles?

While perusing the thread about the Duane re-issue I noted the big image has the strings going over string retainer before it get's the the saddles.

Any thoughts on this ? Curious.

It's called topwrapping or wraparound. Use the 'search' feature, as it gets much discussion here.
