'57 classic pickups

What year did the '57 classic pickups (with the Patent Applied For sticker) first come out?

Thanks in advance!

Interesting question. I can't find a definitive answer as to the exact year. Late '50's is as close as I've come.

A bit of history here:

Re: '57 classic pickups

I'm sure that the 57 classics came out in the early 90s. I think the first historics had them in 93. I'm not sure if they came in any guitars before those, but its possible.

Yes, thank you. I was asking about the reissues, aka "classic '57s. You got it right!

My '74 has the '57 classics in it and I was wondering when they came out. Apparently not in '74!

Thanks for your help.
