Torres Engineering Humbuckers
**Text Removed** --Mod
As I stated to you before...read the MLP Rules, particularly # 5: 5. We don’t allow discussion of how or why deals have gone bad unless you have a judgment by a court of law that backs up your allegations. If you have a serious problem with a member or company, contact us; if supported with evidence we may revoke their posting privileges on MyLesPaul This is the last warning I shall give you on the subject. I'll be cleaning up the rest of this thread, in case any text has been quoted in subsequent posts. BB Last edited by b-squared; 08-11-2009 at 04:27 PM. |

Re: Torres Engineering Humbuckers
This thread will soon get removed, it's outside the forum rules - but while it is still up...
1. You got sent some pickups. 2. They took a while to get to you. 3. One of them didn't work properly. 4. The seller of the pickups thinks it must have got damaged in transit (sounds fair if it was working when it left him, I expect they test them). 5. He wants you to send the faulty pickup back for repair, but you don't want it anymore, you want your money back. 6. The seller doesn't want to pay for your tech's time installing a faulty pickup. On point 2, you're not alone, it can take a little while with many pickup winders. On point 3, bound to happen to someone sooner or later - unlucky. On point 4, I think I'm with Torres on this one. Point 5, here in the UK the law is with the seller - as long as he repairs it within a reasonable timeframe. Point 6, never going to happen...it would involve a lot of trust of your tech not to load the bill, and there would no longer be any profit in the job. Find out what your rights are, go in with your eyes open, try to treat people reasonably. Not sure Torres did anything that terrible, apart from maybe someone lying to you about why your pickups hadn't been sent out. Your post on this forum tells me as much about you as it does about Torres Engineering. OK, you had a bad experience, but you are being childish about it. You should just give them the opportunity to repair the defective pickup and see what they sound like. Liam |

Re: Torres Engineering Humbuckers
This is my 2,359th post on this forum. FWIW I have no association with Jeff, Dan or any of the Torres clan. Most who have been around for the last couple of years will have noticed the lack of Torres content in my posts. Think I referred to one of his books as flawed, but a good read, about a week back.
This is your 10th post... So a bad time to accuse me of having an alternative agenda. I'm not upset, I'm just wondering when you're going to realise that stuff goes wrong every now and then. How you deal with stuff going wrong is the measure of what sort of person you are. This forum is probably not the best place to bad-mouth people when luck has gone against you. I've not actually seen the review of the bridge pickup yet. It would be nice if you direct me to it. As far as I got was ", I would expect nothing less of his pickups, unfortunately, I never got to hear them." Liam |

But yep, I'm a tw@t. Well known for it. For some reason also a lucky tw@t, but probably only from watching "My name is Earl" and deciding it's not a bad way to live. You should have said the bridge pickup sounded shite as well. I would have had a lot more sympathy... Liam |
