Re: Anybody got one of these????
Those are the ones that are in super clean shape. I saw one of these in perfect condition with the original box sell last year at a music auction in Denver sell for $450. I mean PERFECT.
Based on the condition of yours, I'd expect something in the 250-325 range if you decide to sell it, and thats if the pots and switch have no issues.

Re: Anybody got one of these????
It should look identical to this. Pay close attention to the JRC chip. That's the chip that everyone rants and raves over...

Re: Anybody got one of these????
Wow, nice. Keeley mods the modern TS-808 and TS-9 to retro spec using that 4558 chip Beerdog posted, which is smoother and not quite as harsh as what's used now.

Re: Anybody got one of these????
Here's a great place to get replacement chips:
Effects Connection Online Store They have the original JRC4558, original metal can LM308 for the RAT, and the modern Burr Brown OPA2134 for modded tubescreamers. The Japanese Radio Corporation (JRC) is now NJM, so you can try the NJM4558D, which you can get from Mouser and should be the same thing. |

Re: Anybody got one of these????
Effects Connection is good. I use them quite a bit for small orders. There is a lot of talk about which chip is better. I actually like the new 808 with the LM308 chip. I usually stack them. Makes the distortion much smoother to my ears.

Re: Anybody got one of these????
I have few older pedals but never got into Distortion pedals, I always used high gain amps and rely solely on overdriving them.
I've seen a few of the old TS going for $350 lately though. I like the way old gear looks, just has character.

Re: Anybody got one of these????
I've seen one on Ebay for $1200.
I'm still loyal to my fulldrive though.
