Getting a new SG
Hey, hows it going. I should be recieving a G-400 SG, faded cherry =D. Anyways, Ive just played my old guitar completely stock. To give you an example, I havn't even messed w/ the tune-a-matic bridge. I'm just wondering what I can do with the guitar right out of the box to get optimal performance, by not spending too much. Any quick Ideas?

Re: Getting a new SG
Why don't you wait until it arrives, check it out and see what about it, if anything, you don't like. Then consider what to change on it. I would at least give it a set up with fresh strings and go from there. The most obvious changes would be new pickups and pots, maybe new tuners. But I had one of those and the fake 57 classics they have aren't too bad actually. Give it a run first and then come back for better suggestions.
