Tone Report : Miss Honey got her VitaminQ's

Well, I just had to pry myself away from my favorite Les Paul, Miss Honey
HolyGrail last week sent me some vitaminQ's . Earlier today on a paint break, I got a borrowed soldering iron, and installed em and changed wiring to Vintage, vs Modern, OMG I was very impressed before with Orange drops, my WCR Fillmores, and modern wiring, Well, I am totally astounded with the VitaminQ / Vintage wiring, Does this thing nail Fillmore tone,
YES and then some !
Taking Miss Honey to Blues Jams tonite
I get more highs but with good roll off with the tone knob, thickens up buit does not muddy up ! No Mudflaps needed, Nice woman tones she now has somewhat a more percussive quality of tone as well
I first tested the wiring using my Seymour Duncan, but then took it and plugged into the Crate V30 and dimed it out . When I pushed the harmonic feedbacks, they were even much more responsive with tone and volume adjustments
All I gotta say is SWEET , SWEET ,Sweet !
A little Expandora action really drove things over the top
Yep I am pretty damn gassed at this point, for SURE

If you want extreme clean then the Hovlands shine but I found that I lost the grit in my sound that I had with the original caps. I really like the Orange drops, they brought the grit back, but now you've peaked my interest in the vitamin Qs. I was thinking about trying a set of jensens.

Bare Knuckles set w/original caps and pots

Bare Knuckles w\ hovlands and CTS pots

I need to make a clip with the orange drops.

How was the jam tonight Don?

Hmm If you want to retain some grit, either stick to the Orange Drops or Go Vitamin Q's I lost nothing grit wise with these at all , Roll em back and they clean up fine, having gone vintage wiring I found was a plus indeed I had a minor glitch at the second jam but it wasnt the fault of the equipment, it was mine and its been fixed already . I was really able to crank it a bit at the first jam I went to, We went into ZZ Tops Tush, as the bassit could sing it and man, Miss Honey just came out sweeter than ever, bit of a controlled feedback end note I didnt loose till I rolled it off on purpose, In time and on Que
The Orville is NEXT , hehehe Also some new handwounds for her will be here not TOO long away

Nice! I've been wanting to put some good caps and change the wiring in Queen Anne's Revenge, but I haven't had the time.

Definately going to check out the Vitamin Q's! Let me know how the Orville goes!

The Orville has now been done, between painting siding in the garage, SWEEEEEEEEET, I put a .015 in the neck, that has a Classic57
and a VitaminQ .033 in the bridge on the Burstbucker3, MUCH Sweeter tones
Contact Brother HG For caps ! and GO Vintage wiring, I definitly noticed a big big difference

For me the Orange Drop are great in Strats, but the Jensen's are my favorite in a Les Paul.
