would you plug a heavy sounding distortion in to a valve amp

i have been working in a venue for the last couple of month and recently i have see thrash and death metal bands using heavy distortion pedals like electro harmonix metal muff in a valve combo/stack amp

would you use one in a valve amp?

That's nothing new. Try it. You might like it yourself. Personally, I would have used something other than Electro Harmonix.
