is a new toggle switch really nessasary?

I’m pulling out all the old wiring from my v pots pickups everything and I’m nearly finished i just have to wait for the bumblebee cap from wildestarr and then its finished.....i cant remember where but i got a recommendation to change the toggle switch and input jack and there is nothing wrong with either of them is it really necessary?

IMO, the switchcraft jacks and switches are the best. Probably won't make the guitar sound any better, but they will hold up longer then cheap import stuff.

Would Gibson's jacks be considered cheap import stuff?

Actually, I believe Gibson uses Switchcraft, so the answer would be no.

Take it easy,

I am doing a total electronics swap in my guitar, and everything is going, switch is of course by Switchcraft and so is the Jack, i figured for around 20 bucks and since the guitar would be apart, mine as well put some good ones in there,
