Re: yer blues

Ummm...60's ES-335, direct into a Fender Bassman, crank it up...repeat as necessary.

Oh--and be Eric Clapton...

Seriously...a guitar with good pickups, and a tube amp driven hard will do that. Don't muck around with a lot of effects, it will push the tone away from this very basic sound.

Re: yer blues

yea im not an effect person really just some nice tube gain and reverb if appropriate and when im rockin out ill use delay but i just mean cause on my peavey c 30 i get a real heavy electric blues/rock type of tone/gain out of it but hes got like a thin sounding thing goin on here but no thin in a bad way it sounds good

Re: yer blues

Turn the gain down a bit. Remember those amps had a volume knob and EQ controls, nothing else. You had to crank it it to get that great power tube distortion.

Re: yer blues

Try your clean channel cranked up on that C30. That may be closer to the ticket for ya.
