Need some help, found a Duncan 59 but it only has one wire, the one I took out had 5
I just took out a DiMarzio Super Distortion that had 5 wires, metal, white, green, red and black. I am interest in a used 59 pickup for my LP but it looks to only have one big wire. I am confused, doesn't it need a ground etc. This is a first for me and I would have thought there would be at least two wires inside a sleeve. Here are a couple of pics that guy sent me. Can someone help, I tried to do some research but couldn't really find an answer and time may be a factor if its a good pickup with no wiring missing.
Here is a picture of the only wire and it's tip, is it possible wires are tucked inside? Again please help, I'm confused do I just solder the one wire onto the pot? |

The metal "sleeve" of the new pickup is the ground; the hot is the single lead inside. Solder the hot to the tab and the sleeve to the pot case.
