T.C. Electronic Polytune is pretty OK to me.
There's a rumor some famous guitar players use Boss TU-2, but check it out...

Very true. That is the only issue with the TT, but its accuracy is second to none. Even more accurate then Peterson products. Now we just have to design a sunblock for it...

How does this tuner tune to normal E flat? By the flat indicator light?

Re: Best Pedal Tuner

You know I love the tuner on my Digitech GSP1101 Preamp Processor. I usually would just tune by ear or unhook and use my Korg but the built in one on this Digitech is really spot on.

Re: Best Pedal Tuner

Question - I have a Turbo Tuner ST-200. Still trying to get used to it. Maybe I am old school but I find dialing in the diode lights very subjective. Never sure if I am dead on or not. (i.e. has the dial really stopped moving) Always have to check it with my ear after I tune and sometimes it is off (or more accurately I didn't read the diode properly) . I find an old Boss tuner with a standard needle just accurate for playing.

Thoughts? I bought it based on feedback and would like to keep it. But otherwise, I think I will just sell it soon.

Re: Best Pedal Tuner

I have a TU-2, but have lately considered a change. It has been great for years, but seems less accurate lately and a little more finicky(turns on and off sporadically). Naturally I thought TU-3, but the Polytune Mini has a lot of appeal as it would free up a little space. However, the Turbo Tuner has me wondering about the whole accuracy thing. I wonder how much more in tune it will sound with the higher accuracy? Hmmm...

Re: Best Pedal Tuner

tuners i've owned

Behringer TU300 - avoid. i got one for my brother, it died VERY quickly.

Boss TU-2 - great pedal, but not as accurate as the others.

Boss TU-3 - another great pedal. only got rid as i wanted a...

Peterson Strobostomp - SCARY accurate, and the sweetened guitar tuning is something i still miss, although i still kinda do it with my current pedal, which is a

TC Polytune - easily the handiest, quickest tuner. accurate enough to intonate on, but also the most useful stage tuner i've ever seen.

Re: Best Pedal Tuner

When I bought my pedal I had a choice between the Korg pitch-black and the Boss TU-3. I ended up going with the Korg simply cos it was $40 cheaper and it was pretty much spot on with the Boss.
