middle position on LP so vol is controlled by bridge only
i know a lot of folks love the idea of the middle position having a blending capability but the purpose of this thread is to seek out help from those in the "know" to see if it is possible to: modify the wiring so that when at the middle position/selection (both pickups) the volume output can be controlled by the bridge volume only - no blending.

Suspect you can wire just about anything
![]() There is an optional wiring that simply involves reversing the wires on the volume pots (check the diagrams on the forum) so that the volume pots don't blend in the middle position. The bridge pot will simply control the bridge pickup, and the neck the neck. The only advantage to Gibson's wiring is that if you want to roll off the volume at the end of a song for some reason, then you just have to roll down either one of the 2 volume controls. If you notice, in the middle position roll off either volume and it kills both pickups. I've been thinking that wiring them independently would give me more rational control over tone. If I wanted to blast the bridge pickup and just blend in a bit of the neck, I would know exactly what is going on. Now, I always feel like I'm guessing a bit. And of course, if you want to kill the volume at the end of a song, that's why God created volume pedals.
