Weber Legacy?

Any one tried the Weber, Legacy? I am looking to re-load a 2/12 cabinet and get that Greenback tone without the celestion cost. these are a good price and a 30 oz, 75HZ 30 watt Legacy is appealing. Any experience with these out there?

Re: Weber Legacy?

What amp are you going to be using with these speakers?

Re: Weber Legacy?

If they're like the Scumbacks then I'd say I like the regular british series better.

Re: Weber Legacy?

I don't use Weber speakers. They DO make good rifle targets.

Really? Weber makes some incredible speakers. Either you haven't tried some of their better ones or you're deaf.

As for the OP, I had a pair of Pre Rola clones made by Weber in a 2x12 that is now long gone. They were fantastic speakers.

When I get around to getting another 2x12, I think it's going to be loaded with Scumback M75s after discussing options with Jim. Just for a change of pace and because of the killer clips and reviews.

I'm an Eminence guy. I have tweed amp clones and their P10R clones are the best made, best-sounding I've used. The two webers I used were discarded quickly. Not mah thang.

My 12a125a in my tweed deluxe would strongly disagree with you, but we all have our own tastes.

Fair enough but from my experience ( I own old Fenders loaded with old P10R's and Q's) the Weber greenback variants are much closer to the original than the Eminence clones are to old Jensens. I LOVE my C1225 but I'd never put it into a Fender amp.

Re: Weber Legacy?

I'm digging up this zombie cuz I just got some of these Legacy 12"'s (65W, 50oz magnet, Large H, 55HZ, 16ohm) for the 'buy one get one half off' sale. These things sound amazing!

I was running 2xCele V30's/2xCele G12T-75's, and the mid spike from the V30's coupled with the mid scoop from the others were giving me a tone that I just could never quite get into. So after looking around on tha interwebz I decided to try out some Webers. They seemed to get some great reviews from people, and now I know why.

They are really smooth sounding all the way from the lows to highs and don't have that mid-spike the V30's have. When they're side by side you can really hear the mid-spike of the V30.

I'm using a Laney GH50L and matching Laney 4x12" cab and play 'stoner' rock. These speakers are really clear, articulate and have some nice growl to them. I'm a converted Weber fan!

I'd have to say that I don't think I've ever played an Eminence speaker that I liked, so it goes both ways I guess.

The last Eminence I had was that POS that's found stock in the Fender HRD. That got switched out in haste to an Italian Jensen P12R, and the amp actually sounded decent after that.
