I did too!!

I have a set of BKP Apaches wound 5.9k. 5.9k. 6.4k alnico III and heavy formvar wire. Clearly fits with what Jason Lollar describes as the first generation of Strat pickups (albeit ever so slightly overwound compared to the average example from 1954).

A luthier friend of mine who has several original vintage Strats asked me about the make of pickups... I told him and he simply added "they sound like old Fender pickups did". I´m a happy camper.
Mookakian likes this.

Re: Jolly good read for all tonefreaks!

ToneQuest is probably the best guitar magazine being published.

Unfortunately, a subscription is so damned expensive that I can't afford it anymore. Not complaining, just sayin...

Re: Jolly good read for all tonefreaks!

subscription sent to the UK is something like $130 a year... too much for too many, sadly

Cool. I'll have to read that.

To be clear, Nash is an assembler - not a builder, unless something's changed recently.
