Filtertron in an Epi LP?

I'm planning to replace the stock bridge pickup on my Epiphone les paul standard by a gretsch HS filtertron pickup. Now my question is: Is this possible? And if so, how?
thanks

Re: Filtertron in an Epi LP?

I have just refitted my Edwards Les Paul with TV Jones Classic pickups.
It is possible without having to butcher the guitar IF you use TV Jones English Mount pickup and the Pickup rings they supply.
I think you may need to do some alterations if using a Gretsch pickup.
Its really worth it tone wise though, very Malcolm Young when driven and a much better clean sound. IMHO.
Best of luck.
Mick

Re: Filtertron in an Epi LP?

Was it a real Filtertron or the modern foreign equivalent?
There is a sizable difference.
