Hmm... maybe i am (pedal freak)

I never thought id be a pedal freak but look at my floor now And a few are at a mates house

Today arrived a BLK lable BF2
Pink lable CE5
Yet another GE7 EQ

SDC10413.jpg

All i need now is a
Power Unit(daisy chain ATM)
2x A/B switches,
throbak fuzz,
carbon copy,
V!N Beerdog Boost
Good Buffer at the end of all this mess

Whats become of me

Worst part is learning to use all these darn effects properly. I am open for any tips or recommendations, the A/B switchs will provide bypass for the wah and trem, i have a Boost'N'Buff at the start of my chain.

How am i looking to you pedal pros in here

Re: Hmm... maybe i am (pedal freak)

Gez, this blk label BF2 is a GREAT pedal. Ive tried the MIT BF2 but its nothing compared to the warmth and humbling swirls this MIJ BF2 produces... very happy

Re: Hmm... maybe i am (pedal freak)

You'd be the first ive come across aswell! Its an amazing unit isn't it Perfect in every way

I just spent 5 hours in the jam room with all my new buddies, and i have to say i was in heaven. Didn't take too long before i got them in the right order and boy it was an interesting introduction. Still the BF2 stood out, so much you can get from it. Some cool ocilation stuff in there too, i guess it being analog and all? Anyway its good

And the pink label CE5, well i knew that one would be nice, we've met before Nothing compares IMHO

With the EQ's i can shape both the mesa and TS9 and have a nice treble boost 2nd in the chain with the 3rd.

Although the MIJ GE7 is alot nicer to play with than the early taiwan model(also able to run at 12V), I think the blacklabel may have been modded somewhere along the line too(beerdog had a peek in the box and tells me the chips are not sharp as in the schematic by Boss), it adds so much of the stuff i love to my tone

The newer GE7's are not as thick and have an aweful noise im not into, but that ill have to fix, if i can get them to sound like the MIJ GE7 im in the game

Re: Hmm... maybe i am (pedal freak)

i got mine for 100 dollars used, never been able to find any info on it anywhere, and ive been wantin to true bypass it, definetly a great pedal.

i havent really opened up about my effect obsession, but i admit ive got a pretty big board. im in the middle of finding a more stable power supply than compared to my one spot, also need to get myself an analog delay to matchup with my dd-20 and also need a reverb pedal.ill post some pics if u like?

^^^

Yes, we would like!

Mook,

I agree with you man. Pedals can be very addictive. And I like it that way. they offer tonal variety and variety, as known, is the spice of life! Buth where you are at the moment, I would look for something to tidy everything up, like a quality cable / connectors kit, perhaps a board and a power supply. I'm up to 5 pedals so far and I'm going for a board with power supply this X-Mas.

as for GAS...?

a Dunlop EVH wah
a TC Electronics Modulator
a CMATMODS Black Plague
a BOSS Looper

and the list goes on...

Re: Hmm... maybe i am (pedal freak)

Pics are always good

Ive been through a few to get this far, i miss the BBE Two Timer, great for solos, a heap more i could dribble about but its funny how the old classics ended up staying around. I think the newer pedals will shine in the Fuzz and whacky touch sensative machines.

I have a patch kit in the mail but the noise level is good right now (beside the GE7 hiss), all neutik leads, still its a bit messy and i need to bypass the wah/trem, i leave them out unless needed.

Im thinking a T-rex Power Unit will keep me sorted for years But first, the new amp... in a few months

Re: Hmm... maybe i am (pedal freak)

hey mook, when you figure a way to bipass the trem let me know asap!!!

heres the board at the moment( 18 reincarnation of it ) :

right now the behringer delay was just added cause i need an extra delay unit, i need to record some ambient music so it had to go on even though i hate it.

im thinking of replacing the fender reverb and the behringer delay with:

these guys are true bypass , and around 40 bucks a piece.
