Hey guys, I have an Gibby Les paul Studio that I bought fairly recently. The problem i seem to be having is that the pickups in it (I believe its the 498T 490R Combo) just seem to be a little too harsh(for lack of a better term). I play alot of Classic Rock like guns'n'roses type of stuff and they don't really seem to sound all that great, I also have an Epi les paul custom and that sounds pretty good if that helps any. Does anyone know of a pickup that is a little more creamy but still with a decent amount of output? I've heard from a local music shop owner that a good option would be the gibson classic '57's. While i don't think i've ever played them, the videos on youtube that i've seen sound exactly like what i'm looking for. Do you guys think this is the route I should be taking? or is there a better pickup that is similar to the classic '57's? I've played for 8 years, but i've always just been content with stock pickups in my guitars so any advice would be great! Thanks guys!
