My son has an Epiphone Skull Les Paul , and I was wondering if anyone has any information on these guitars? What type of pickups are in them, and anything else you can add?

It honestly doesn't look that bad. :thumb:

And I know that I would have loved it when I was that age!

Of course, those were the days when Queensryche and Poison were my absolute favorite bands. :laugh2:

I would have loved it at 10. To answer your question it has open coil humbuckers but they can sound pretty good. Putting something on it is another thing, my question is "like what?" I am sure you could put alot of stuff on it but I dont know why.

My first guitar was a special II

I remember at the time thinking it was the coolest thing ever

Then 6 months later I got an Epi LP standard :D

That guitar should be great for a "student" guitar. I wouldn't sink any money in to it. Just let him cut his teeth on it, and then move on to something a bit higher quality down the road.

    I like it, and I'm 54 years old!...:headbanger:

I hope your Son totally enjoys it!! As long as HE thinks it's cool, that's all that matters!!:thumb:

Of course, scoring a couple of skull knobs (to replace the speed knobs) off of Ebay would be a cool thing for Dad to do...And, wouldn't cost an arm and a leg either...:hmm::cool:...He's 10, score points now, while you still can. 4 years from now, you'll be a dinosaur and he'll know everything!!

    Welcome to the forum!!:applause:

I only just turned 28, so I won't be a dinosaur for awhile. It need it's neck adjust then he can go from there.

My first LP style guitar was an Epi Special II. It was a perfect beginner guitar for me. It will work great for him without changing anything, excluding a setup. Trust me!
