Not a fan of the rim burst but the wine red is killin' me but I just don't need another.

There should be a fine for posting this, like $1499......

It's a pretty good deal for the GC/MF exclusive Trad Pro IV.

You might also check Musician's Friend. The wine red Trad Pro 3T were on sale for $1200 a few times last year, but the plain top Iced Teas like the one in OP, were $1800.

I got my flame top 3T during that sale for $1800, which was about $900 off regular price. The flame tops are typically $500 over the plain tops, but MF had them both on sale for the same price, so it was a no brainer.

Does the Trad IV have a matte finish neck, as stated, or gloss? I have seen a couple on reverb where they say gloss. The local GC did not have them in stock for me to check.

They're selling the Classic for the same price.

I about crapped my pants, when I saw that.

any thoughts how this traditional for $1499 might compare with the Tribute's for $899? I am thinking about my first LP and while I really like the AAA flame tops, the $899 price really shocked me. I didn't know you could get a LP for that cheap (new).

Last time they had a Guitarathon, I walked out with an American Special Tele for $7xx!

My Traditional Pro II was VERY good and MUCH nicer than any of the Tributes I have tried out so far. It was on par with my Traditional (non pro). I only got rid of it as I wanted a bigger neck. I wish I kept it. Was just communicating with another member here minutes ago and said I wish I kept my 2014. :( You should check them out. More features than a regular Traditional. No idea how they are selling them for this price. At least when they were satin back/neck, you could see some savings...

If you search here, you will see many people love their Pros.

The difference is quite substantial. With a tribute, you get a good, basic guitar with no frills. With a TP IV, you're getting more aesthetic details, such as body and neck binding, gloss finish, a nicer top, etc. You also get some versatile electronics which give you nice tonal variety.

$899 is not cheap for the Tribute. Even the Studio Deluxe is a better deal at $999.

yeah, I'm still trying to learn all of the different models - it's mind numbing. I had always thought the "studios" were not real LP's but inferior models, although I have no idea where I got that.

I wish I could find a nice flame top Traditional Pro for around $1500 - I think that'd be my ticket.

2 years ago, you could find them for $1200 to $1400 used. I just searched Reverb, and you would be much better off buying new, while the sale is on. $1499 with a return policy. The people asking $2k are nuts. I want to spam them with $800 offers right now. Could be that I am still a little disappointed that they went all gloss for the new ones too. :)

Studios can be very very nice. They vary like crazy from model and year though. You can even find ebony fretboards on older Studios!

Flame top Trad III for $1800 is probably the best deal I've seen yet...

Stop trying to make sense. :) I need to stop looking at Reverb too... Too tempting to get things.
