I am 100% with Flickoflash on this one, this version of Greeny will blow away the Gibson Custom Shop version if it ever makes it to production, I heard that the Pearly Gates, held up the Greeny replica, if it even goes ahead.
This guitar is absolutely awesome in every respect.
BTW the Jeff Beck Oxbloods, a guitar I love, didn't sell like they had hoped, the signed ones. The Page guitars were in a different zone and their prices went astronomical for different reasons.
Everybody likes what they like, I have no desire to own any of the new 'Gibson' replica guitars, notwithstanding the reason that I can't afford them..
To me straight Historic massaged by the experts out there is as close as one can get, for my money..which I'm keeping!!
My last GAS was so expensive, not Bursts, that I am retired from guitar buying for a good few years...
I'm sure the Rev's copy has extra special attention, as it should..
    It's a crazy world..:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Nice job! Question, since it pretty much a replica of how the guitar looks nowdays, wouldn't you want to use non-locking Sperzels? When PG had it, it had Grovers but it also had much less wear and still had a sunburst on it. When Gary had it, the guitar lost its burst and gained a ton of wear over the years, and somewhere along the line had Sperzels put on.

I could be wrong, but I think this is the look that Dave and Mark were going for when Mark contracted Dave to do the guitar (photo courtesy of Emerald):

Yes this guitar is absolutely stunning in all respects and surely must be the benchmark for all. including Gibson's Custom Shop themselves, when a replica of Greeny is to be built.
I agree that the overall condition of the guitar after Gary took over ownership and post horrible car accident damage, would be the exact time frame to reproduce.
Also not to be controversial, but for many years now, since at least 2006, I have advocated for Stripe to be replicated, as it has a fantastic look and obviously sound.
The exposed pickups and the extreme back of the neck wear on that particular guitar, make it an even more playable guitar.
Wondering if anyone has compared the two at all in respect to the neck dimensions, but Gary has commented, as did Peter on Greeny's neck being so thick!
Again I must state over here at the My Les Paul Forum, that this forum is my personal choice to post on at all times.
Though there are obviously many of us who belong to both major LP forums, personally speaking, I am grateful of the level of maturity and respect offered here.
In the recent past I have encountered the certain people and it only takes one, whose sole mission seems to carry out personal hate attacks against me, due to my strong beliefs.
I will continue to post here, as I feel that that climate is not tolerated here and I have met some fantastic and very knowledgeable and kind people here.
Those who know me, know my only agenda is to share my love and experiences with vintage guitars and amplifiers, plus the artists who use them.
Apologies for being off topic here, I just have been recently upset by several other forums and this has made me want to stop contributing...but I won't and am glad of the climate here, as I previously stated.
Peter Green is an icon of British guitar players and Gary Moore has served to carry on Peter's music, keeping it alive with a genuine love and respect, that has been unmatched by any other guitarist.
Recently the level of personal attacks against Gary on other forums, has reached epic proportions and I have choosen to stay out of it all.
For many years I have loyally supported Gary and still continue to do so, but as for all this childish. cowardly internet bashing..I will not honor any of it anymore.
The Greeny recreation is most exciting and kudos to all involved!
    Happy Thanksgiving to all members.
